Phosphorescence Magazine Hailing from Virginia, indie rock group Chasing Arrows has everything going for them. Their 2010 CD release, Life On Hold, is all the proof needed that this band is, without a doubt, on its way up. From the first notes on the first track, "The Open Stage," it is crystal clear that Chasing Arrows is all about quality. Their strength lies in an impeccable attention to detail, and each aspect is covered - from vocals, melodies, and musicianship, to writing and arranging. Everything comes together perfectly in "Downfall," where a powerfully passionate voice keeps pace with a potent, forceful sound in a perfect match. The names behind all this talent are as follows: Graham Todd: Lead Vocals; Nate Fender: Lead Guitar, Keys, Vocals, Synth; Walter Pierce: Keys, Rhythm Guitar, Vocals, Mandolin, Synth, Organ; Tate Thoreson/Damien Wade: Bass; and Joe Hamm: Drums/Percussion. A standout for Todd is "We Can," where he proves his unstoppable voice can go in any direction. "Unaware" is also a highlight for its moving vocal and guitar. Chasing Arrows is that rare, complete package that is highly deserving of all the attention they are sure to catch.
